  • Safety awareness, acceptance and competency in complying with OSHA and other construction site rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a team achieving a common goal, with good communication skills and a positive/cooperative attitude; ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, tools and installation as well as how carpentry activities intersect with other, adjacent trades’ work (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, etc.)
  • Understanding of building construction schedules and ability to work within and toward productivity targets set by foremen and superintendents
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches and other drawings as well as basic record keeping and reporting
  • Survey and layout capabilities including use of digital and manual measurement techniques
  • Ability to measure, cut, shape, construct, assemble and generally build rough carpentry such as wall framing, door bucks, in-wall backing, temporary structures, formwork, floor blockouts, safety railings and ramps, and other similar building components
  • Installation and trim of finish carpentry items such as cabinetry, doors, trims, paneling, hardware, shelving, accessories, and similar installation or assembly with a high level of craftsmanship

  • High School diploma or GED and skilled in reading, writing and math
  • Three to five years or more of consistent work experience as a carpenter in the construction trades
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and favorable driving record
  • Forklift, scaffold, OSHA 10 certifications are a plus, but not required at time of application
