Carson Tahoe Hospital Expansion
This 46,000-square-foot hospital expansion included a brand-new emergency department and covered connector between existing buildings. Built by PB team members at Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, NV, they worked alongside the client to keep the facility fully operational and maintain business-as-usual for this critical community resource during construction.

The project includes the new, 500-foot Carson Tahoe Walkway, bridging the Regional Medical Center and Sierra Surgery and serving as a critical artery, facilitating swift and safe patient transfer and staff movement.CTH also added eight state-of-the-art treatment rooms to the for a total of 32 rooms, which has bolstered the department’s operational efficiency and patient intake capabilities.
The expansion extends further into the medical center area to a 20,000-square-foot addition including a new laboratory. This facility, equipped with the latest technologies, is pivotal for accelerating diagnostics and patient care. The remaining area is dedicated to support services, enhancing the backbone of the hospital’s daily functions, including housekeeping, materials management, and biomedical engineering.
