The groundbreaking ceremony for Dick Scott Manor, recently held by the Reno Housing Authority (RHA), marks a significant milestone for the community. This landmark initiative will provide 12 new units of permanent supportive housing, meticulously designed for the needs of low-income, extremely-low income, and homeless military veterans. This project is a testament to the dedication of the RHA to shape the future of affordable housing in Washoe County. Dr. Hilary Lopez, RHA Executive Director, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, noting that these units would provide "safe, secure housing for years to come." Plenium Builders is honored to have been the CM-at-Risk for the preconstruction and to move forward as the general contractor for the Dick Scott Manor project in Reno, Nevada.

The importance of this development isn't just in the number of units or its design, but in its embodiment of community spirit and remembrance. The manor is named in honor of the late Dick Scott, a devoted community leader who served tirelessly on the RHA board and played a pivotal role in advancing affordable housing in Nevada. His commitment to the cause and the love for the community and its residents were evident in his words and actions. Beyond his contributions to the RHA, Scott held significant roles as a Washoe County Commissioner and a Reno City Councilman. He was a figure who consistently looked for ways to uplift and give back to the community, especially in the domain of affordable housing.

Collaboration is at the heart of Dick Scott Manor. Veterans who find a home here will receive rental subsidies through project-based Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) vouchers. Furthermore, the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System will be providing essential case management, and other supportive services will be extended by the RHA.

With the project's completion anticipated in late 2024, Plenium Builders is eager to bring this vision to life, ensuring a legacy of service, sacrifice, and community collaboration for years to come
